The whole thread is about athleticisum...

Anyway, just watch any highlight reel of Hamed and come back here and try to argue the fact that he's not one of, if not the most athletic fighter in the ring. Not only was he able to dodge just about anything, he could hit you from anywhere at any angle with any punch.

I don't agree with him being 'the most athletic'. He could punch from weird angles and was awkward as hell but it's not like he's michael jordon for crying out loud.

I don't think his skills in the ring show that he would do well in other sports, but I know he trained like no one else. If you have ever seen him in the gym you would know what to strive for when working out.

    Why is Whitaker so high?

I don't get that at all. Pernell was a terrific athlete and an absolutely amazing fighter, but he was more skill than athleticism unlike Ali (who somehow is below him) and several guys you ranked under him.

The things Pernell did in the ring generally came from what he knew about boxing, all the experience he gained in the amateurs and being around boxing for so long, his technical skills always outshined his natural athleticism as in his speed and agility IMO.

Same thing with Pep. They should be on the list, but they did not depend on their natural gifts to have success like Jones, Ali, or Judah or some of the guys you lsited.

Years ago, I once saw holyfield compete against other atheletes in one of the best all around athelete TV shows wherein he was pitted against football players, track and field guys, weightlifters and such.
Holyfield won the competition. He blasted the rest of the field in the track events, even beating some of the football playing track stars.
It was fairly amazing to watch.

So I agree with you, Holyfield should definetly be in there.

ATHLETIC, meaning can run fast, jump high, Be good at other sports. I seen Roy hoop, he aint that good. I seen Floyd hoop, he aint that good but is one seriously fast and quick mofo. NONE of the guys you nimrods mentioned could cut it.

When Floyd was playing in the NBA All Star Celebrity game, he was by far the best player on the court until Terrell Owens came onto the floor. And considering T.O. has about 6 inches and 60 pounds on Mayweather, I would say that Floyd more than held his own. He displayed quickness, agility, and a nice touch to his jump shot.

Holyfield was a tremendous physical specimen also. Same with Tyson, who had a ridiculous proportion of fast-twitch muscle fibers. No doubt that had Mike not found his way to boxing, he could've easily made his way onto the football field as a runningback or linebacker.

Tarver beat Jones at basketball in a 1 on 1. So, it seems he´s quite athletic. Klitschko has great athleticism for his size. He surely is comparable p4p to SRL and so in this department.

And what has that to do with his athleticism? Also that´s not right. In his prime his defence was very good, actually his history is very similar to Mike Tyson´s.

Yep, ant that diminishes his standing somewhat but he wasn´t a great athlete because of roids. They just made it easier for him.
