yeah this post was shot from the hip,

i honestly was mesmorized by his fight with baptiste, the g-man when i saw his foot work, sturdy chin, killer instinct, hight, power and handspeed it got me thinking of thomas hearns but gerald had a chin. yeah this thread is a big bite that im choking on but i thought he looked pretty invincible against jackson and baptiste.

Conteh was more well rounded than either, though.

I'd also have to say that he had little to no inside fighting ability, which seems to be the case for most of Steward's fighters.

Right. He actually played a game of pro basketball on the same day he competed in the ring. (How many other boxers have performed for money in two different sports, on the same day?)

It was a single game of semi-pro ball in which he played 14 minutes if I recall correctly. Jones would've never even sniffed the NBA.

Not hard to look good against a nearly blind guy who's been fighting for a decade whom you also happen to have 20 pounds on.

good fighter but not most the athletically gifted though ,i think he would of lost to the top fighters, toney, jones, hopkins, eubank, mccallum ,punchers against these but lack of defence and untested stamina until benn fight, could someone let me know if its true he beat roy jones in the ams,
