Somewhere out there is a guy who was 0-0 that literally nobody would fight.

I'm not looking to supplant any of the names thrown forth, just to add to them.

Jose Napoles - Turned pro in '58 and broke into the Ring ratings in '62 and was rated at 140 through '67. He did all the champions work, beating everyone in sight and was rated through '67. It appeared his title shot was forthcoming when the WBA ordered champion Sandro Lopoppolo to defend against the Cuban. But the Italian found ways around it - basically defying the WBA - and with nothing else Napoles moved up to attampt a shot at welter. He was beholding to promoter George Parnassus who got Curtis Cokes' signature but only by promising a record amount for a welterweight at the time ($80,000). Napoles, a natural 140 pounder came in light at 143, but was too much for Cokes and after 11 years finally had his title.

Duilio Loi - Ranked not only in the top ten at lightweight from '54-'60, but most of the time was the leading contender with no title shot at 135. While waiting he even ventured up to win the European welterweight title.. He finally got a crack at the newly reactivated 140 lb. title. And although he didn't win it his first time around, it was close enough for a rematch, which he won.

Nicolino Loche - Ranked solidly at lightweight from '63 - '67 and despite draws in non-title fights with lightweight champs Carlos Ortiz and Ismael Laguna, it was enough to close the doors on him. Whatever connection he finally made, Paul Fuji finally agreed to give him a shot, but again, at 140. No lightweight wanted a part of him.

Zora Folley - ranked in the top ten from '56 until Ali gave him a shot in '67. Despite having fought everyone in existence at heavyweight, it took a phenomenon, no less, to give him his shot at the age of 36.

Either Sam Langford, Packey McFarland or Charley Burley are probably the correct answer

it's a shame you can't do a Breakdown on literally Dozens & Dozens of Fighters... because that is precisely the type of analytic assessments many of them need.

a Chronological look at 'just the facts' laid out as they come... fighters coming into prominance, their Rise, their Ratings, their Fights, the Scene for the other Contenders & Champion, the Business, the Corruption, the Boards for or against, the Robbed or Crooked Decisions, the Consistancy at the Top and the sheer Fortitude of Fighters in Spite of it all, who just wouldn't fall away or be undone... because they were Cheated!

and it took a Whole Machine, Machinations to get it done.

There are More Great Avoided & Cheated Fighters than there are champions.

a great quick analyses of these Fighters, Scar.

Every man and his dog was chasing him. He was a one stop shop to big money.
