I saw this in the complete opposite way. Just an egotistical old man being unprofessional. HBO did not give two shits about how their commentators acted. Merchant was often lax and on many occasions would belittle what happened inside he ring. "Wake me up when something happens"? What the actual ****? No, he should not have sugarcoated it, but he should have been adding valuable commentary to the viewer. Instead he basically told viewers that this is boring and they should not be watching. Why would HBO even stand for that? Similar to how that Stephen Smith guy on acts ESPN. All he does is mock the programming he should be promoting. Why the **** does he have a job? The ratings he produces? Nah. He is alienating ESPN´s core audience. Sports should be about entertainment and fun. Not negative assholes like Smith and Merchant.
I hate this cos it happened to Duran... Its also one of the bet kos ever.... How rapid is that right hand
'When he fought Sugar Ray Leonard for the first time, on 20 June 1980 in Montreal, Durán transfixed some of his intimidating predecessors. Joe Frazier, the former world heavyweight champion who had fought three savage battles against Muhammad Ali, stared at Durán. “Does he remind you of anyone,” Frazier was asked at ringside. “Yeah,” the old heavyweight said, thinking of a mass-murderer. “Charles Manson.” Durán’s venerable trainer, Ray Arcel, fed the mystique. Three days before the fight Durán’s ECG revealed an irregular heartbeat. “That can’t be true,” Arcel deadpanned. “Durán doesn’t have a heart.” 'In his entertaining autobiography, I Am Duran I , published last year and out in paperback this July, he suggests: “I Was Mike Tyson before Mike Tyson came along. Fighters would take one look at me and crap in their pants. Leonard would be no different. It was starting to dawn on the Americans that they’d never come across anything like me before – this eerie, deadly being with his jet-black hair, dark eyes and bad intentions. El Diablo, they called me: The Devil.” This content is protected
Larry was always saying some sideways things to Floyd and others. Floyd should of grabbed him, held him, elbow him and danced around the ring
Nah. Floyd would never have done that and it´s a good thing. HBO should have stepped in after that nonsense. Why would they let their commentator belittle the biggest draw in the sport like that? Again, I am not saying that Merchant should have been an ass kisser, but he should have shown some professionalism. I think it´s Jim Gray over at SHO who has balls to call things as they are while also being a professional. This content is protected ****ing brilliant! Meanwhile Merchant: This content is protected

Old British Heavyweight Richard Dunn literally eating massive right hands off Ali and getting back up, testicular fortitude of the highest calibre, pity his boxing skills didn't match his nuts .
