Yeah. Dont even now why HBO made their trips to Germany all these years. After the Sultan Ibragimov fight they should have pulled the plock. Or after Tony Thompson.

Don't know if he was more boring in the ring or out.

He was middleweight champ of the world -- beat SRR TWICE (albeit he was 75-years-old). Bet there's not more than a handful here, without going to BoxRec, who even knew he existed.

Only fighter I can think of who had a charisma bypass

i watched a few of Ruiz's fights again and to be honest he had an ugly style but i didnt find it as boring as others

he came in and mauled and fought in close, hes a heavyweight and not a gifted athlete or KO puncher so he made due with what he had and over achieved

as far as boring well i cant think of a guy who was always boring in most of his fights

i mean everybody has a bad performance eventually

but a consistently boring fighter id say Cory Spinx

I hate to label an all time great as a bore, but the lack of explosive punching Benitez would often showcase always bored me.

Of all careers I have sat through of great fighters, his was the hardest by far to sit through. Cory Spinks can be, but I think Zahir Raheem was even more boring than him. I admit I haven't sat through the whole careers of Ruiz and Byrd.

Johnny Nelson, his fight against Deleon was awful. There were more rounds in that fight than punches.
