    I mean most people here embrace Usyk, who isn't American. Usyk is a credit to boxing. Wlad is not. Nothing to do with nationality.

    You can only fight the best available guys, which Marciano did. Given the frantic pace Marciano fought it, his high work rate, and aggression, i can't see any case in people finding him boring.

    He didn't really though. Valdes was no1 contender when he won the title. I'm not saying Valdes is a great, but his management pretty obviously swerved that one

    I found Holmes to have a real nice style to watch personally.

    I think you could close the thread on the opening post. You said exactly right.

    Johnny Ruiz, Chagaev and Sultan in their brief runs, Valuev....that whole era was awful.

    It has to be Wlad, and no one comes close. Ruiz was even more boring, but he's hardly great.
