Most Boring/Over-Hyped Fights

they can't think of anything else but floyd mayweather and oscar delahoya ..it's the mainstream big time rival so of course we're all knowlageable about it now aint we? .. you bring up floyd patterson they stare at you like a dog that's being showed a card trick

 

i totally agree..that was the fight i told myself i'd never give rahman credit agian ..one hit wonder is all that man was...you couldn't even give him a title he'd find a way to screw it up

 

That was a bad fight too, though the Iggy/Wlad fight was a unification fight, something we have not seen in 8 years since Lewis/Holyfield. Im surprised that was on PPV, I would be pretty pissed off if I paid for that one.

 

I think that was the most dissapointing about Oscar vs Tito is that the fight had so much potential . Both guys have been in some real crowd pleasers and they just didn't perform that night.

 

I hear you, but most were perdicting an early knockout for Tyson, especially since Holyfield looked so bad against Bowe less than a year before. I just feel you could of picked other fights before that one, thats all.

 

Yes, I was thinking of this one as well. Cautious counterpuncher that likes to clinch vs turtle shell defence that has a great jab.

 

I don't think Tito/DLH was boring it was just one sided through nine rounds and I remember watching it in a bar full of MExican's and everyone screaming, "What the **** you doing!" for the last three rounds. This was entertaining but until the ending which I thought at the time was DLH throwing the fight. Now I'm aware he spent all his gas.

PBF/Floyd is good for watching a technical bout and its finest. When I watched if first time I hated Floyd for what I thought was running away. Now I realize Hoya isn't Hatton and that's what Floyd had to do to win. Fair enough. If a cougar fights a bear you can't expect him to fight the bear's fight.

 

Oh, I can't stand that plagarizing Ron Borges. He can write well (he had a great article on Kassim Ouma a few years ago), but what a smug jerk he comes across as (and people in boxing say he is).

I think he just picked against Tyson because of his dislike of him or maybe he just often picks upsets so he can look good when he finally gets one right.

I remember him talking before Mayweather-Gatti about how Floyd would go through hell.

 

He was way off on that one, I knew Gatti was going to get destroyed that night. I think Borges was round off of his perdiction if memory is correct, every dog has his day.

Rober Stieglitz vs. some old man.

 

:rofl I never heard of him, so he cant be that good. Iggy/Briggs was terrible, but Wlad/Iggy was a little worse, based primarily on the signifigance of it.

 

Every Zahir Raheem and Cory Spinks fights. Both fighters put you in a snooze fest.

 

The Judah-Spinks fights were actually decent.

 

I would have to say....Hopkins/Taylor.
