Nothing worse than sitting down to watch a big fight and it turns out to be a total stinker What was the most boring title fight you watched. I pick Hector Camacho v. Cornelius Boza- Edwards.
Skelton against Chagaev in 2008 was the closest thing to unbearable I can remember in terms of Heavyweight title fights. I could never stomach Skelton at the best of times (as a fighter that is - he seemed like a decent bloke); his fights against Danny Williams and Sprott had been horrific, foul-filled spectacles. But I thought, when presented with what was certain to be his only world title shot at the age of forty, he might as least try to put on a bit of a better show and make sure he left the ring with no regrets. I was wrong. It was absolutely abysmal from start to finish, not helped by a referee who was happy to let them clinch with no inside shots being thrown for about thirty seconds before he stepped in. Chagaev also looked every bit the awful title holder he was...Jesus, those 2004-08 years (Lewis retired, Vitali taking time out, Wladimir yet to really earn respect or convince his doubters) really were the darkest in Heavyweight history. Another awful one off the top of my head would be Norris against Paul Vaden. So much 'bad blood' and big talk from Vaden beforehand - but in the end, his performance was so pathetic that the Pennsylvania Commission threatened to withhold his purse. Seldom do you see a fighter concede his world title so meekly (it was a unification bout, lest we forget). Norris' mind seemed to be elsewhere as well, as it was one of his bluntest performances during his peak years. Talk about not backing up your words.
Bernard Hopkins--Morrade Hakkar. It featured a completely outmatched journeyman who didn't win a second of the fight and Bernard Hopkins.
Bob Foster-Ray Anderson -- most boring by far in my experience Dick Tiger-Gene Fullmer 2 Jack Sharkey-Max Schmeling 2 Jack Johnson-Frank Moran Tommy Burns-Jack O'Brien 2
Shane/Winky. No action but no intensity either. Mosley spent the entire entire time hoping to touch gloves in peace.
Has there ever been a worse title fight than Johnny Nelson v Carlos De Leon? Johnny Nelson v James Warring may well be runner-up. "The Entertainer"
