Good call, especially taking the thread title in a literal sense: Perhaps not as quite as action-packed as some of the others, but in terms of damage inflicted right up there. This content is protected
An exciting fight, but I don't know about the brutality aspect of it. Bobby had enough left to drop Bazooka in the final round, and Limon had enough to get back up. To me, extreme brutality means that one or both might be utterly spent, as happened in Manila. Cuevas-Espada II cemented Pipino's reputation for durability and stamina. At the end, Espada was in his corner, jaw grotesquely swollen from having been fractured, both legs elevated on top of his chief second's shoulders, and he was wiped out. During that match, he absorbed a frightful beating, and responded with a furious counter attack, driving Pipino to the ropes and covering up in a way I wouldn't see again until Hearns. Cuevas-Espada II needs to be on youtube. A phenomenal and brutal war.
Sithchatchawal/Monshipour was pretty brutal, if largely for the massive physical exertion of constant trading rather than just the odd exceptionally damaging blow.
Hurtado and many Tua fights are more extreme finishes out of nowhere. Ohhh, here's a good one. Derrick Jefferson/David Izon. Izon's a ****ing punching bag the entire fight until Jefferson is so tired he literally just falls over. Vitali/Sanders was pretty brutal. Corrie supposedly had bruising inside of his ears from the beating he took... However the hell that works. Also Jefferson/Maurice Harris was pretty nasty.
Most brutal one sided beatings I've seen are Riddick Bowe vs Pierre Coetzer Donovan Ruddock vs Greg Page Michael Carbajal vs Domingo Sosa Michael Spinks vs Willie Taylor Julio Cesar Chavez vs Terrance Ali Two way brutal fights.... Saad Muhammad vs Yaqui Lopez 1/II Saad Muhammad vs Marvin Johnson 1/II
