Not sure if anyone would agree, but the Foreman -Lyle fight was a pretty brutal affair. Both fighters were dropped repeatly. Less intense than the Hagler-Hearns fight, but somewhat along the same vein.

I also recall another Foreman fight, against Steward, where he looked like he'd been hit by a truck after the fight.

Those Ward-Gatti fights were pretty brutal affairs as well. They basically pounded the crap out of each other for three fights.

I think Mr. Magoo cautioned someone for using the word "******" in a public chat forum on another thread here.

It would be interesting to know the words one can or cannot get away with in this forum.

Well, the first fight had everyone fearing for the safety of both fighters, as opposed to just one. But yeah, these were both vicious, vicious fights.

Brutal? IN my lifetime? Probably Benn-McClennan?

I remember watching a pretty brutal one with Baby Jake Matlala once too - can't remember who against - maybe I'll have to look for it on youtube - Baby Jake had real bad cuts over both eyes but was really torturing the guy back - will try to look for it unless someone can refresh my memory?

Fights from the past - sorry to an earlier poster but Dempsey-Willard nothing comes anywhere close in heavyweight history! This is the most brutal fight bar none for me - almost a bit sickening at times espcially in the third round it makes me feel a bit queezy - Willard looks horrendous - it really is a wonder to me that he wasn't killed

another vicious looking one is Battling Nelson versus Ad Wolgast - horror movie stuff - no wonder these to ended up in mental asylums - but very tragic too - they come no tougher

2 the most brutal fights I saw:
    Willard-Dempsey
    Dempsey-Firpo

TBH, many fights in 90's in the HW division were quite brutal (most including Tyson, Golota, Bowe, Holyfield and Lewis)

Yeah, very true. That's what resulted in that BRUTAL rematch with Bowe. Man...

Same goes for Vitali Klitschko. Those beatings that Wiliams/Sanders/Arreola/etc received were quite brutal.

Possibly the best hook off a jab I've ever seen. (Was that in 1 or 2? I'm to lazy to check at the moment.)

The "Boston Bomber" Tony Demarco vs Saxton WW title fight comes to mind.Saxton takes a very bad beating on the ropes towards the end of the video. It looks to be more of a one sided beating.

moore-macklin. the pace set in that fight was just obscene.
