Most of the fights I was thinking of were already named.

Some other brutal fights with two-way action are:

    Barrera-Morales 1
    Kelley-Dorsey
Gatti-Robinson 1 (2 was no walk in the park either)
Vazquez-Marquez series, this is how they looked after the 3rd fight.

Chavez/Alli is over-rated in terms of brutality IMO. There were a handful of punishing exchanges, but Padilla stopped it before it got too messy. It certainly wasn't as heavy as Jones/Hall or, for a similar length fight, Duran/Moore.

Broke both his hands on Hipp's ****ing head. :scaredas:

I personally think Cooper/Hipp was just as bad. What a tough ****er Hipp was.

    Moore v Durelle
    Saad Muhammad v Lopez
    Gomez v Pintor
Ali v frazier 3 is probabley the daddy of brutal fights

On a different note, i know the fight wasnt anywhere near what we are talking about here but i always found Tysons 10-20 second salvo on Pinklon Thomas to be a bit of a brutal/sickening finish. That guy took at least a dozen clean shots in succession to the head before going down

So many brutal battles & whatever i pick makes yer feel like you're disrespecting all the other worthy warriors that slip yer mind, but what came to mind from the recent modern era is:

    Benn/McClellan
    Gomez/Pintor
    McAuley/Bassa
    Boza/Chacon
    Rosario/Chavez

I know it's been said before..even though Hipp wasn't as hard a hitter, he was a more talented version of and a better fighter than Chris Arreola. Maybe the only resemblance was physical, however.

One of my favourites is Danny Lopez-Mike Ayala. Lopez ate some shots in that one but just kept coming. I think from memory that Mike actually lost the fight twice.

Ha ha, yes he did. Just watched it there on friday and i think the ref was carlos padilla, and he counted Ayala out in ,i think, the 10th, but apparently the timekeeper said that Ayala DID beat the count so they both came out for the 11th. Tough tough fight. Although Danny deserved his victory, i felt sorry for Ayala after giving so much

Hearns vs. Barkley in 1992 was more brutal than people seem to remember. Since Barkley upset Hearns again the fight was ignored. Donald Curry vs. Terry Norris was a brutal fight. Norris beat Curry up badly. Also Hagler put a big beating on Mugabi.

Adamek Briggs 1 & 2 were pretty brutal as far as more recent fights go.
