the most brutal fight that i have ever seen was evander holyfeild vs dwight qawi in their first fight.

i have never seen so much live action being sustained for so many rounds in all the fights i have seen.

The thread is most brutal ,not competitively, most brutal .So a fairly modern one ,not mentioned,Duran v Moore, shocking referee.

Evander Holyfield vs Riddick Bowe I

"I don't think any heavyweights have hit each other as hard, and for as long"

Riddick Bowe vs Andrew Golota II

"Riddick Bowe survived on heart and raw talent alone, in one of the most brutal heavyweight fights ever..!!! Riddick Bowe was clearly drainned from weight lost, but his instincts where just to fight Fight FIGHT..!!!

    Larry Holmes vs Ken Norton.

I've never seen the fight in it's entirety but I can't think of anything to top the end of the Zale-Cerdan fight for brutality.

The second Gatti-Ward fight. Ward was fighting seven rounds with a busted ear drum and some of the body shots Ward took still hurt to watch.

    Sam McVey-Joe Jeanette II

The fight lasted three hours and a half. Jeanette was down seven times and eventually won. It makes Rocky's comeback in Rocky IV seem like a minor event.

(I've seen this fight in my dreams.)
