Good thread, sadly the 2 forum idiots will probably sink it with some more wonderful random Heavyweight crap.

So far in my mind I cant think of a more brutal action fight than Mancini Kim that was sustained over such a long period of time. Benn McClellan comes close. While the Benn fight still gets spoken about alot the Mancini fight doesnt obviously because Kim died and people dont want to seem to touch it. Without being cold its boxing and fighters know what there getting themselves into. That being said Mancini gets alot of #### on here glorified club fighter ect ect fact of the matter is the mans style caused an early burn out and the Kim fight as seen even to this day hit him really hard which effected later performances IMO.
All this being said the brutality of this fight in the hot desert would have broke many a fighters will who are considered better again IMO. Had Kim not passed I believe Mancinis career ends on a higher note. The man always showed up in shape and to fight. No excuses. That's a real fighter in my book.

James Pipps and Carmelo Negron. I bought the tape twenty years ago because I remember reading about the fight in the 80s; they were the main bout over Holyfield's seventh fight. Last time I checked it was not on Youtube.

I love watching it. I remember watching it live on Sat November 13 the afternoon after watching the great Pryor Arguello fight and thinking it was every bit as good. Then a month latet thinking Gomez Pintor was the best ever. Then 8 days later watching Limon Chacon and since December 11 1982 never seeing a fight I thought was as good as Bazooka vs Bobby 4. Wow! In more ways than 1 I wigh it was 1982 again.

Gomez - Pintor involved a bit of give and take. Holyfield - Qawi too.
