Garcia and Matthysse took something out of each other IMO.

You want an obscure good old-fashioned brawl? I remember watching this one live. 'Rockin' Robin Blake vs Tony 'The Tiger' Baltazar. Damn, what a fight!

Briggs Adamak totally under the radar! Didn't they go twice? I thought they would never be the same.

Two of my guilty pleasures are 1) Terry Norris v Donald Curry - Curry was past his prime, but before he folded in the 8th it was bombs-away. 2)Julio Cesar Chavez v Edwin Rosario - How Chavez withstood those hand grenades Rosario was throwing was anybody's guess. Fought in phone-booth compactness, this was Chavez at his best, but Rosario's bombs kept me on the edge of my seat.

Holyfield said he lost 15lbs first fight with Qawi. 15 rounds of CW going at it.

Another great CW backn forth was Mormeck vs O'Neil Bell. Dont remember if both fights were wars, been a while since I watched them.

Glowacki vs Cunningham another great back n forth CW brawl.

Mentioned already The top wars that took something out of both were Gatti-Ward, Corrales Castillo & Vazquez Marquez...3 fights that shortened the careers of all combatants.

My number one ALL time "
Most brutal 2 way fights you ever saw--with most punches thrown & landed" is
    Monshipour vs Samsitchiwal.
French commentators kept saying oo-la-la over and over.
Not a single round is possible to count the volley of shots thrown.

For the classic section Lamotta vs Norman Hayes II. Another fight where punches can't be counted. Norman's shots however were more arm punches, but other wise bombs away, no defense -all offense.

Not sure if it could be classified as brutal, definitely a lot of back n forth, ebb n flow was Tarver vs Glencoffe Johnson, both fights.

Can't we have a thread on great fights by good fighters.

Instead of the usual names being rammed down our throats...

How about praising some of the lower level names that don't get a mention...

After all they put up better fights and fought for their pittance.
