    Good grief Eastsiders, can't believe you all missed it,,,,the right uppercut that Napoles ko'd Indian Red Lopez with. On the chin then cut him below and above the eye on a totally unconsious Earnie. It is equal to any of the other great one punch ko's in history.

    Great hook, I was there and went into Gerry's dressing room after the fight Cooney may have had flaws but I think he was not moved right overall from a fighters legacy point of view. As far as money he made plenty but had he won a title America was ready to make him a hero. Cooney started as an southpaw in the amateurs and I saw him win a middleweight title in the NY gloves at that weight

    Tommy Morrison against Ray Mercer. Ray was involved in another brutal knockout later. What happens is Mercer gets guys in trouble and keeps punching even when they are totally out of it, so it makes for a devastating knockout. Tommy recovered well from that to be honest and I think had a better career in boxing than Mercer.
