Lots of good calls but the one that I think stands out for the stage it was on and for the heavyweight title was Ali Norton III. Good Lord Ali got battered from pillar to post and lost at least 10 rounds maybe 11. This was as fine an example of rigged scoring in history.
two beautiful knockdowns and great counterpunching throughout Walcott did pose at times but I believe he one the fight hands down
Coggi-Gonzalez 1 The most outrageous robbery ever. What's worse than winning 2/3 of the rounds and losing the decision? Having 3 different occasions on which you really should have won by stoppage or DQ, and still losing the fight. I always laugh when this topic comes up, and predictably some idiots mention fights that were genuinely very close decisions with rounds that could have gone either way. Last time I got angry watching a fight was Hooper-Burton. Loved seeing Hooper get whacked by Manfredy shortly after. I remember seeing Paulie Ayala get some gift decisions, especially one against Tapia that should have had some judges beaten with sticks out behind the arena. Larry Holmes got an absolute freebie against Carl Williams. Williams beat him clearly, won at least nine rounds, maybe ten, and out punched Holmes throughout. Hated Holmes and Don King for years after that.
The most outrageous one was a non professional bout. Roy Jones getting screwed from pillar to post in that Olympic bout with the South Korean fighter in Seoul.
A shame that one of the judges in this fight, Luis Pabon, is still allowed to referee to this day. He had Coggi ahead by 2 points by the time of the stoppage
