How can someone be "the most complete fighter ever" when they have virtually no chin?

agreed (in part). jones had a good but likely not great chin in his prime. H2H he rates very highly but his complete lack of fundamentals disqualify him from the thread by a lot

How is Duran still being mentioned? Boxing a whole fight behind a jab off the back foot. Hearns could brawl, but he could also box of the jab. What makes Duran more complete then him?

it's more about having all the all around skills. duran had offense, defense, movement, technique, threw in combinations, very good chin at lightweight, aggression, and generalship

the specifics you are referring to are styles. duran had a different style than hearns but he did everything very, very well. don't get me wrong: so did tommy. but i think duran edges him in defense and chin (in their primes)

Hearns wasn't a great in-fighter. Therefore he wasn't complete either. Also, Duran actually could box very well. Check out his third fight with De Jesus where he dictated virtually the entire fight at mid-range. The fact that he never needed to box entirely off the backfoot against anyone doesn't mean he was an incomplete fighter.

STill if he never showed the ability to win a fight behind the jab off the back foot still how can he be a complete fighter. Hell Eric Morales matches all of these qualities as well.

What makes Duran more complete then Leonard? Leonard could brawl just like Duran, But Duran even with his amazing athletic ability couldnt fight like Leonard. Hell in he second fight we see Duran couldnt keep up.

Hmm it takes alot of skills to fight off the back foot. Even for how supremely skilled Duran was, I dont think fighting for long periods of time without coming forward was part of his game.

Again its like Ali. With his size, speed, chin and strength, could he have stood in the middle of the ring and traded with other fighters and won? Yeah. But we never seen it so how do we know Ali could?

For a complete fighter I look at Ray Robinson, someone with a great chin, who one round could slug it out with you and the other round stick and move. You didnt know what fighter you were going to get. I dont believe sticking and moving would b something Duran could ever do effectively.
