On BLH, there's a post up near the top about the worst decisions per the Compubox statistics. Funeka-Guzman was actually #9 on that list. Some Paez fight was #1 (can't remember which one), Lewis-Holyfield I was #2 and Toney-Tiberi was #3.
Santa Cruz vs Casamayor Funeka vs Guzman (No way that Guzman deserved a draw and should've been stopped) Malignaggi vs Diaz (a closer score would've been more relivant even if Malignaggi lost) Spinks vs Phillips Spinks vs Taylor ** I know Spinks doesn't have the most crowd pleasing style but it just seems as though, these two times he shouldn't have lost. Hatton vs Collazo Hatton vs Lazcano Calzaghe vs Hopkins Tarver vs Jones I Tarver vs Johnson I Pacquiao vs Marquez ... no matter what, since Pac didn't capitalize on those three knockdowns ... he deserved to lose. Dirrell vs Froch Mosley vs DLH II
Ike Quartey - Vernon Forrest (if I remember right...worth a re-watch) And we should never forget: Dale Brown vs O'Neil Bell.
I had Pacquiao winning the first 113-112 and Marquez winning the rematch 114-113. I feel the wide variation of scores we often see in fight 1 come mainly from the late rounds. Pacquiao of course dominated the first round, Marquez did better after that for a few rounds, but many of the late rounds were close with neither guy really establishing clear superiority over the other. I know my Ali-Shavers opinion might be controversial, Shavers actually said on some interview on this site that he didn't disagree with the decision. I really thought Shavers won clearly though. Landed the better, cleaner shots and I had a tough time giving Ali rounds for his flurries (which often just hit glove anyway). Of course, Ali was a shot fighter or close to it, but regardless, Shavers at least should've gotten crowned as a HW champ rather than simply a contender who is arguably the hardest hitter ever. I had DLH beating Mosley in the rematch, but thought it was a close fight and don't have too much of a problem with those who disagree. Eder Gonzalez, their first fight. It was disgusting. It wasn't a case where a guy won 8-4 and didn't get the decision, which is bad enough, but he ****ing won by TKO/DQ like three times in a round and still lost the fight. I just didn't list it because the topic was controversial decisions...whenever it's about worst robberies, I always bring this fight up.
terrible decisions. Tiberi-Toney was the worst I've seen Lewis-Holyfield I funeka- Guzman Fench-Nelson I Leonard-Hearns II DLH-Sturm Overrated decisions Chavez-Whitaker (I scored it even) Mayweather-Castillo I (I scored it for Castillo, but it was close) trinidad-DLH (I thought titio won by a point but it could have gone either way) Marquez-Pac Man- I think I scored it a draw, so it obviously could have gone either way.
