Tyson , with his speed and power, must be right up there as most dangerous for anyone ....

Foreman and Lennox Lewis as well ...

 

Sorry, but i can't rate him near Louis, Tyson or Foreman. These guys poleaxed top fighters and ATG's while they were still a serious force. Earnie's power rates with anyone ever but when the level of opponent goes up he pales to these three.

If we talk about vs average Joe's well that might be a different matter.

 

Tyson,Foreman would test you early but Faded, Shavers had power as long as he had gas but he came in with a lil tank, Louis would test you early but knew how not to waste punches and make everyone count and when you were hurt he was the best finisher...Louis had a college degree and these other guys were in elementary school, although Foreman got more relaxed in comeback

 

Quarry took Shavers out in the 1st round.

Shavers obviously is dangerous because of his power but the chances of him landing an early bomb on an ATG is less than the others mentioned.

 

..it's russell's thread and at one point he asks for more obscure names....and then this guy seems surprised that no one mentioned earnie shaver...who is far from being obscure. david tua well, less known but still hardly a club fighter. come on, guys...if you see a word like obscure that you don't know the meaning of, look it up in the dictionary

(shaver is earnie's real name. he changed it to shavers because he gave up on tryiing to get anyone to use it correctly, although he did win the battle to keep earnie instead of ernie.)

 

Tommy Burns deserves a mention.

Many of his oponents were less than stelar but he was giving up a lot of weight and smashing them early.

 

Lets hear it for the `Acorn` Earnie Shavers! Arguably the hardest one pinch bomber in boxing history. That right hand was an explosive bomb! Loved it when he blew out Norton in one round. Not that Norton`s chin was star quality

 

Tommy Morrison was very dangerous with fast hands, combination punching and excellent power. A threat early for anyone.
