I have no idea. But it was a thread on this forum that ran on for a long time with many contributors for either side of the 'debate'. Does that equate to a suggestion for 'most deluded fans' aimed specifically at the thread-starter who was one of the chief belligerents? Yeah, I think that's fair.
Calzaghe fans, HANDS DOWN! After he beat Kessler, they were comparing him to Sugar Ray Robinson. Enough said.
haha, you are one touchy mofo. i wasn't calling into question your suggestion. i remember the thread vaguely and posted in it a couple of times although on in reply to other calzaghe chat rather than the main talking point of the thread. if we're talking the most deluded fan then that can only go to one man, pacdbest. HM: bigtime9.
Enjoy! http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79638&highlight=calzaghe+greatest+fighter+years
I genuinely wasn't being touchy there mate, if it appears as though I was that was unintentional. I was merely trying to explain why I thought it was legitimate to use that thread as reason for my suggestion, as you do raise a valid point regarding how many Calzaghe fans actually agreed with that. I think you are right, most Calzaghe fans very likely did not agree with that thread, so I suppose that particular group of Calzaghe fans are the most deluded on the forum, not Calzaghe fans in general.
Can't believe how many pages that thread made. ridiculous. i sort of got the idea he was on the wind-up though. if he was it certainly worked. obviously calzaghe is nowhere near best of the last 25 years. i don't know anyone who thinks he is either.
all pugilist64 does on this site is bum calzaghe to within an inch of his life and **** on hopkins and jones not knowing that all he's doing is discrediting what will be the two biggest names on joes resume once he hangs em up
you're from wales so im assuming you are knowledgable about british media who make just as bad a habit as overhyping fighters as america do. The media had people fooled that amir khan was the next big thing they had everyone fooled that hatton would beat mayweather heck they try and fool you into thinking calzaghe is the second coming of god
You have a point with Khan, But the media didnt hype Hatton, most boxing experts in britain went with Mayweather, by a long way. As for Calzaghe he was largely irrelevant to the media until Lacy. He was as ignored by the British press as he was by the American.
