Hasim Rahman aiming to become the oldest world boxing champion ever at 53 reminds me Razor Raddock saying the same 10 years ago before being dispatched in a brutal fashion by journeyman Dillon Carman at 51.

Yet, I think the worst one was Oleg Maskaev's firm desire to avenge each and every of his 7 KO defeats which he proclaimed in couple of years after being demolished in one round by very average Nagy Aguilera. But even worse - he said it AGAIN like 4 or 5 years after his last fight, that he wants to come back to avenge all his 7 KO defeats.

Can you name any more delusional claims in boxing?

Let's be fair to Ruddock. Sounds like you're saying a younger man came in with a youth advantage, like most younger men do. As they are wont to do.

Nathan Paddison after his defeat to Wildman. Laughable.

" all da experts agree it wuzza lucky shot. I hurt him and eye just got cort cummin in. It was illegal two he used da ropes. I spoke to many pro's and world champions "

Look it up on YouTube. This clown claims to be undefeated in 500 Street fights and been stabbed 9 times in prison. Yet he has no scars.

I have one sticking in my head 40 years after the fact...

Early Meldrick Taylor fight on ESPN in late 1986 right after the draw with Howard David Jr. so they were feeding him a tuneup/easy win to get his head right.

They picked this journeyman named Danny Vargas with a 13-7 record who was a string bean with no punching power and obviously zero chance at winning rounds. Bernstein sticks a mic in front of this guy's face and asks him his opinion of Taylor and the upcoming fight.

Vargas looks into the camera and says in the most irreverent and carefree way "Ah, no problem, I can beat this guy" with the dumbest smirk on his face you can ever imagine.

He lasted two rounds. Never won another fight.......
