    Tyson vs Smith.

Bonecrusher promised he’d take the fight aggressively to Tyson…Tyson said that if Smith did fight him like that, the match would be “interesting.”

And then they proceeded to serve up the biggest load of dross I’d ever seen up to that date.
Smith was not true to his word and hugged and held and clinched and wrestled his way throughout the first 35 minutes, then decided to turn it into a 1 minute shootout in the 12th, and finally started throwing bombs. I had him 10 pts down at this stage so too little too late for Smith and too little too late to stop the fight being a total borefest.

Mayweather / De La Hoya was the fight that was supposed to "save boxing" from its MMA competitors and declining interest among young people. It did not live up to that.

Louis - Conn II. No drama like the first fight.

    Clay-Liston II.

    M. Spinks vs Tyson. I really expected a good, competitive fight.

If we are prepared to go outside boxing, then I mist include the HEMA open sparring session, where I got my ass handed to me by a skinny Ukrainian lass!

Maywather--Pacquaio and DLH--Trinidad were both better fights than Barrera--Hamed. Everyone just gives that fight a pass.

Sam Peter didn't get off at all against Vitali. People expected drama.

The Inoue--Donaire rematch was pretty awful.

    Joppy--Duran

    Rigondeaux--Lomachenko

    Mugabi--Norris

    Hearns--Shuler

Vlad Klitscko vs David Haye ….Haye did such a great job of trash talking at the press conferences …that he actually convinced me that he would win

Page --Witherspoon. I was pretty young but had grown up watching Larry Holmes. I had also just watched a tape of Frazier/Ali 1 weeks earlier. I knew nothing of either fighter but read somewhere that these two fighters were the future of the HW division. How awful was it watching those two fight for that prestigious title.

Griffith I think had the most success with Carlos, some have said he could’ve won the second and supposedly have cards for such a thing. I don’t know about that…
