I second this. Billy Dib is the BIGGEST PIECE OF **** in aussie boxing today.

I think I almost threw something at the TV when this happened.

The worst thing was, and to put this in context this fight was featured on the first free-to-air telecast in Australia, so it was a reasonably big event that should have put aussie boxing in the spotlight. The result just gave everyone a bad taste in their mouth, and it would not surprise me if free to air boxing never came back to our screens again.

Stupid commentators didn't say **** about it, for fear of losing their jobs.

No robbery decisions, but even if it were allowed, this is beyond a robbery decision.

The Bowe-Golota riot at MSG, although I must admit it provided some entertaiment.

Glove loading incidents, such as Resto-Collins. Margarito trying to load against Mosley, maybe doing it in the past.

    James Butler, obviously.

The ref got banned for life.

They had a rematch and Coggi won this time without a cheating ref, but still, Gonzalez deserves to at least be able to say he was a world champion for a short time.

Un****ingbelievable. & I thought that Ottke clip was horrid. Geezus.

Especially considering he should have lost that fight 3 fuggin times!

I held Cintron in positive esteem until his behavior in the Martinez fight. I felt bad for him because of the loss to Margacheato & because of his life story.

    Then the Martinez fight:

    • "It was a HEADBUTT!!!:|"
    • The post-fight dance & celebration with his corner
    • The post-fight interview: "Everybody knows I won this fight..."
That's when I went for being sympathetic to Cintron, to viewing him as this:

Go me the whole Mayweather/Zab Judah thing was really bad. You had the P4P best fighter in the world vs a worthy challenger...and Zab Judah throws a brutal intentional low blow. On top of that, you got Roger Mayeather and Yoel "ZABTHROWCOMBINATIONSSONZIPZAPBAM" Judah getting into a brawl for no reason. Boxing turned into Jerry Springer.

    Shitty stuff.

Islander, you are right on all except first. The reason for bottle throwing was death of British fighter in America prior to Minter-Hagler, and the Mexican crowds reaction--they pelted Johhny Owens with bottles and cups filled with urine as he was carried on stretcher from ring, in a coma. Fight took place in United States, and even though it was Mexican crowd throwing bottle, America was blamed. That is reason for reaction after Hagler win.

Robert Quiroga fought Kid Akeem Anifowoshe in a classic 1991 fight in Texas. Texas doesn't use 6 ounce gloves, but the IBF mandated the use for fights below FW, so they used them for this bout. Akeem suffered a brain injury and collapsed after losing a decision (he should've won IMO). Apparently, some of the fans in Texas yelled "DOA, DOA" when they saw Akeem's condition.

He went into a coma. Eventually he recovered, but a year later he died in Nigeria of a brain injury. There were rumors that he was still trying to fight and died after sparring.

Quiroga eventually got stabbed to death by a member of a biker gang.
