Most dissapointing 'big name' to join the UFC

    Jake Shields has never looked anything other than **** in his brief UFC career. There has been some shocking 'big name' fighters to enter the UFC after making waves in other organisations but is he the worst?

    Definitely Cro Cop. Guy was coming off the 2006 PW Tourney where he looked the best he's ever looked. Great takedown defence, vicious striking then BAM! he got Gonzaga'd

    I was in Manchster at that fight. I was going to mention Cro Cop and Gomi as two examples. But in fairness to Cro Cop I think it just turns out he was shot and in the UFC as a retirement fund.

    Im meant OP not PW....

    Anyway Im having a hard time thinking of a close second to Mirko

    Nog and Wandy were both past their Prime, even though Nog is still doing ok.

    Maybe Tank Abbot after his appearance on Friends :huh

    Gomi has been a little disappointing. His Prime was probably the Bushido run, but he has been losing to good guys and the Griffin win was on of the best Kods of the year

    Begins and ends with James Toney. Not that anyone was expecting anything different.

    As far as massive hype jobs who failed to deliver, I seem to remember Sokoudjou being touted as this unstoppable machine, who was stopped in 2/3 of his UFC fights before being cut and going 7-5 in the minor leagues.

    As much as I hate to say it, Cro Cop. Dude is like 4-5 in the UFC (with those wins coming against Anthony Perosh, Pat Barry, Mostapha al-Turk and Eddie Sanchez). It's a real shame.

    I always viewed the Shields signing as a Dana White ''**** you'' to Strikeforce. But yeah he was a guy on a great run

    I wouldn't include Tony as he had no form in MMA. Thing is with Shields he even looked like complete dog**** in his only win in the UFC never mind his losses.

    I remember how disappointed in how the Hughes v Royce match went at UFC60. Not the result, but the performance. I was still naive enough to think Gracie COULD win and pull off the sub after taking a beating(yeah yeah I know)
