Yeah, I wouldn’t count this one myself.

This really depends on how dominant you think Frazier was (I think he was) and whether you think Ali was ‘still prime’ (more debatable).

    I think it’s a fair answer myself.

Surprised no one has mentioned Foreman vs Frazier yet.

I’d personally say no because it’s hard to argue that Duran was still prime at that point.

    Terry McGovern vs George Dixon.

The latter was almost unanimously considered the greatest fighter ever up until that point, and McGovern beat him like he owed him money. Yeah, Dixon wasn't at his exact absolute peak, but he had a very impressive winning streak before he fought Terry, so he was still clearly an elite performer and not quite ''past his prime". Dixon proceeded to win less than 1/5th of his fights after this until he retired. Terry broke him.

Any more? And if you think of some edge cases, try and give an explanation as to why you think it meets the criteria.

I don’t think that was the best version of Frazier that got in the ring. Look at his weights for the two stiffs he beat before Foreman - he treated George with similar respect according to the scales.

Harry Greb vs Mickey Walker. My #2 p4p vs #12 p4p all time, both ATGs.

Most of the performances that see Walker rated so high were ahead of him, but a veteran of 85 fights and less than 2 weeks from his 24th birthday, he was surely coming into his prime, if not yet at his absolute apex.

Not as famous as the beating Greb administered to Tunney in their first fight, this one reads every bit as one sided in Harry's favour.
