I know this has come up before, but I wanted to have a thread that can actually help other boxers...unlike the threads like: "How do you knock some1 out with one puch? What should I do in a street fight? Is it ok if I take a day off from roadwork?"

So...what combinations do you guys find effective? Which comb. do you like to throw the most? What comb. do you like to throw out of a certain defensive manuever (ex. roll w/ an opponent's left hook and come back w/ left hook+a straight right hand.)

A couple of mine are: 1.) Jab, straight right, slip to left and left hook to body, left hook to head, straight right.
2.) (On the inside) right hook to body, right uppercut, left hook, overhand or straight right.

Have at it...I'll post more later.

Jab, left hook to body, lefthook to head, right cross.

    double jab, right.

    Jab, rightuppercut, left hook

Feint jab, right cross, left uppercut to body, left uppercut to head. All of these have worked for me.

Double jab to the body, back off, feint a jab to the body and come up hard with a straight right.
(This works if the opponent is close to the ropes) A quick 1-2,1-2 to drive the opponent into the ropes, pivot to the right and throw a left hook to the body (ur body should be prependicular to their left shoulder and the body punch should hit around their solar plexis.) So it will be 1-2,1-2, pivot right and left hook to the body.

It isn't what you do it's how you do it? Good combos don't need to be fancy if you are faster than your opponent. 1-2, 1-2-left hook, double jab-right cross etc. are all bread and butter stuff. Usually the basics work really well if you apply the correct timing and are fast enough or have a reach advantage.
Things get a bit more complicated when you meet a fighter with a good defence. A high guard with a bit of head movement and fast feet can leave you frustrated. Therefore you may need to mix stuff up a bit.
    Here are some basic principals.
Combos should include body and head shots (more area to defend), a mixture of hooks, uppercuts and straight punches (again more area/angles to defend). Don't forget your footwork during the combos; change of angles and change of distance (moving to the side and in and out and back in again) can open up a tight defence and limit your opponents counters.
Don't forget your timing and cadence. Most fighters throw in a particular cadence, ie bam-bam-bam-bam. Small changes can confuse an opponent. In practice its hard to go faster, so before one punch add a small delay, bam-bam-bam---bam. It sounds unintutive but it works.
Finally, multiple punches with the same hand can confuse an opponent to no end. Think early Tyson (jab-left hook body-left hook head-left upper cut) or Roy Jones Jnr (triple left hook)

    My personal favourites:
    (from the outside)
Jab -sway back (opponent relaxes and thinks you're backing off)- double jab-right cross, uppercut or hook
    Jab to body-overhand right-uppercut
feint a jab-right cross to body-left hook to head-right cross-left hook moving to right
jab-left uppercut (fast and light, just enough to pop the head back)-right cross
    (inside)
pretty much Tyson combos. I have a good left hook:cool: . I use a lot of angles here too.
Double jab-short right-left hook body-left hook head (great for closing the distance)
Double hooks or hooks with uppercuts off the same hand.

    Do whatever works for you.........
