I guess I have 2 watch Spinks again with special attention to his elbows .
It is not d first time i c this accusation about him , i guess it's true , i just didn't notice myself . that being said i found tyson's missing hooks intriguing quite from d start , it took me time 2 understand . many of d posters here still don't understand it though.

Nice call, I was going to bring up Tyson, he was a naughty boy

Are we including the forearm aswell as the elbow? In an infight Mayweather puts his forearm/elbow in the direct his opponents head is moving too. It's near impossible to inforce because the opponent is complicit in putting their head into forearm/elbow. On the inside he does push the elbow/forearm up into their chin/neck lifting their chin up to take away their balance to offset their attacks and to create space. He also uses the lead forearm on his opponents head to hide his right hand

Not being enough of an expert on the other 2 I can't really give an insight to who's the best

    Very interesting observation .
Some1 had Mayweather doing it 2 Mosley and some1 else had him doing it 2 Hatton (on their avatars , or was it d same poster ? , or was at least 1 of them in another forum ? I think so)

Mayweather gets away with a lot of dirty **** with his elbows and forearms. He will consistently whack you on the side of the jaw with it or send it into your throat if you try to fight him up close. With his forearms he has a whole range of tricks, including holding it up or against an opponent's face to block their vision, turn their head, upset their balance, etc.

I haven't spent enough time watching the others to compare. I know Pedroza was pretty nasty in working the elbows, but have seen only a few pieces from the career of Spinks, so I don't feel qualified to vote properly.

Don't have a clear stance regarding d forearm , I guess it should be considered as a forearm . I believe , among other improvements 2 d sport , elbows & forearms should be padded as well , so their use will b legal , making d sport more applicable in reality .
This way , foulists will lose most of their advantage .

Hatton was the main 1 from memory because Hatton wanted to wrestle in close and hold and hit (also illegal). Castillo fight he also used it and got docked a point. Mosley I've seen that fight allot of times and don't remember it, that was mainly an out fight, he uses it when opponents come inside

That's pretty impractical and the elbow/forearms are nowhere near the problem that headbutts are

BTW I wondered where you're from FF?

    1) When 1 tries 2 butt at least he risks getting elbowed/forearmed (although for a reason that bothers me to this day , IDK what happened to Tyson vs Holyfield in this matter exactly) .
    2) When 1 tries 2 elbow/forearm he risks less , u just gave a great explanation of how and why it's done .
    3) Even if butts were/are d wiser way 2 cheat and were/r more destructive , still there is d need 2 prevent any foul / illegal damage .
    4) It is in fact very practical 2 pad d elbows& forearms , it's/was done in some sorts of MMA , UWFi is where I encountered/saw it .

    *) I M from hell .

Funnily enough, the closest Joe Calzaghe's ever been to being KOd was with Roy Jone's forearm

Pedroza wasn't really THAT bad with his elbows. He was 'dirty' in other ways. It was more sophisticated and subtle with him. Like starting a combination on the blindside of the ref with a left hook below the belt and then carrying it on giving the opponent no time to complain.

Spinks' goofy style made it appear he was using it but it was just his awkwardness and funny rhythm.

Floyd deliberately pokes it in your throat for defense and to disrupt his opponents rhythm.
