Sure Ward was very civil, especially when he called the dying Goossen a liar and a thief in the media, that was Goossen's reward after he insured Ward all the advantages in the Super Six, he was the only fighter that didn't have to travel in that tournament thanks to Goossen. That is the normal business dispute for you, when someone uses the media to slander the other party's reputation in front of everybody without any basis?

Star performer? Jesus... When Ward couldn't even sell out in his hometown. That's why his promoter should have given him a better deal? When half of Oracle was empty during his fights?

Ward was a scumbag in and outside the ring as well. In the ring he fouled his opponents every way possible. Outside the ring he calls himself a Christian yet he surrounds himself with criminals like James Prince, his manager. Not to mention the POS move his team pulled on John David Jackson.

Some people are so prone to butthurt, they'll even put words into the mouths of the man who irks them so.

As I said, none of it's rational. And you can't discuss anything sensibly with irrational people. Anybody who's had a few relationships with women knows as much.

I'm sure Dan Goossen had a whole clutch of more relevant and lucrative performers on his books. Anyway, it's over now. Ward had a fine career, and sensible observers consider him a decent, hard-working man and a solid ambassador for the sport and the industry of boxing.

In my experiences, the top tier people Ive known in my life made their own success one way or another, and finally figure it out. I dont see why someone should doubt that someone with Wards intangibles would rise to the top one way or another.
