Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. If this were in criminal court, you're right, a red mark in a photo is not proof. But that, plus the very next fight is where he was caught, and the extreme nature of the injuries to Cotto's face, the easy win by Cotto in the second fight, and the whole feel of the Max Kellerman interview where Cotto confronted Margarito - Margarito looked guilty the whole time. So all of that is enough to convince me the gloves were loaded in Cotto 1 and that's quite a bit more than an assumption - it's like civil vs criminal law, civil is a preponderance of evidence to award damages, but if I were in a jury box voting on a prison sentence, the standard is "beyond a reasonable doubt," and I might have to say "not enough to convict."

 

Corrales Castillo is as perfect a fight as I can think of.

Agreed. Hands down the best title fight this century that I can think of. I watched that fight live with a large group of people and to everyone was going ape ****. Vasquez vs Marquez fights were pretty special as well.
