Currently Tsutsumi Seiya has been in some ridiculously fun matches.

With all the great talent now in Japan, he'd have to be considered the blood & guts warrior of this generation.

I could be wrong on the round, but I think it was the 9th round of his rematch with Higa that was straight out of a movie. Crazy action.

Great mention. His bout against Chul Lee is immense (even though he lost). Shame about his retina causing him to retire. I know he was was big in Japan back in the day too.

He was really popular in Japan and came after Jiro Watanabe retired. Onizuka’s fight with Armando Castro is also a fantastic slugfest. Most of his fights are damn entertaining despite having some close controversial wins.

Good mention. Tsutsumi is perhaps the most exciting Japanese fighters right now when it comes to blood and guts matches alongside Kesnshiro Teraji.

Anyone remember Hozumi Hasegawa? What a fun fighter he was.

Good question... I can't say one in particular...

But today my favorites are Seiya Tsutsumi, Kai Watanabe, Jin Sasaki, Masamichi Yabuki, Naoya Inoue, Kotaro Sekine, Junto Nakatani, Tsubasa Narai and Kazuto Ioka.

In the past I will say Joichiro Tatsuyoshi, Katsuya Onizuka, Shigeru Nakazato, Takanori Hatakeyama, Shinji Takehara,Kosei Tanaka, Takashi Shiohama, Takashi Uchiyama, Toshiaki Nishioka, Shinsuke Yamanaka, Hiroto Kyoguchi, Masayoshi Nakatani, Satoshi Shimizu, Shingo Wake, Daigo Higa, Jiro Watanabe, Sho Ishida, Yota Sato, Kohei Kono, Masao Ohba.

A thought for the Shigeoka brothers, Kazuki Anaguchi and Kanamu Sakama who had very interesting styles and promising futures.
