The topic is MOST exciting not LEAST exciting. He was a great fighter but played if safe after Serra tko'd him and was happy to lay on guys to victory and fight safe rather than actually try to finish a fight which is a disgrace when you consider his amazing well rounded talents.
What is it about Diaz style you find exciting? Are you a big jits guy or you just like seeing him get brain damaged?
All 3 were great for me :conf I like that he'll go wherever his opponent wants to. He's not scared of any part of the game, stand-up, ground, clinch. In the GSP fight, GSP was trying to do enough on the ground to not get stood up... Diaz figures out that he can move towards the fence and stand up (figured too late). But GSP would have kept the whole fight like that if he could. He made Silva look horrible. Silva didn't want to engage in any of the exchanges, if I remember correctly Nick did around 90% of engaging, and I thought he did great. Condit fight was great too. 2 different approaches to martial arts. Condit got the W, but Diaz made him use everything he had. Would love a rematch. Plus he was one of the first guys to have something interesting to say at interviews and conferences during a time when everyone else had a "respectful & positive" shtick.
Silva vs nick was close. Silva literally did nothing in the fight. I thought nick edged it. Condit vs nick was a diff story. Condit beat him decisively.
C'mon guys what am I reading in here. I like the Diaz brothers but Nick did alsolutely nothing in his fights with Condit, GSP and Anderson. I would like Nick to fight someone between 5-12 in the welterweight rankings just to see if he can actually win a fight these days. Have no idea why anyone would want to see a GSP-Diaz rematch.
He's gutsy.. willing to fight to win.. check out his fight with Takanori Gomi, Lawler, Penn ect and you tell me why I find him very exciting.. lol
Well that's how it is when styles clash, but if you're into the grappling aspect too mixed in with striking and ground game and appreciate the well roundness of the sport like submission attempts and things like that, then he's very exciting. This isn't boxing where you use 2 aspects to win a fight,( Punching, defense). MMA uses at least 10 aspect to achieve victory. 1. Striking 2. Kicking 3. Elbows 4. Knees 5. Take downs 6. Ground control 7. Ground and pound 8. Transitions 9. Submissions 10. Take down defense 11. Clinch What you find boring isn't always what it seems to other people who understand this sport a little better than most, not saying that about you, just saying it in general.
Ok I compare him to gatti. Club fighter with a lot of heart. I understand why people might like this type of fighter, I just prefer to watch skilled technicians.
No he didn't. http://mmadecisions.com/decision/5946/Anderson-Silva-vs-Nick-Diaz Silva won every rd imo. Garbage fight from both guys though.
