On the undercard of Terence Crawford v The Special Done which was live on Premier Sports last year, Andrew Maloney stopped Joshua Franco who suffered an eye injury and could not continue with a closed eye.

The ref deems the injury was due to an accidental headbutt, the next 25 mins are spent by Nevada officials reviewing the entire 3 minutes footage to identify the headbutt and the footage proved clearly that there was no headbutt - there was zero doubt.

The Nevada officials back the ref and declare the fight a no contest.

Bit like VAR in football stating a goal was scored when the ball never went near the penalty box never mind the goal.

Setting aside Spud O'Connor's decisions in the UK, I have never seen such a farce in boxing.
