No in your face fighter like Arturo Gatti survives a shoot-out with a sober Lew Jenkins. Lew had Tommy Hearns raw power as a LW. But not Tommy's
    boxing savvy...

Monzon probably doesn't survive Fitzsimmons either but it would still be fun while it lasted, eh? :deal

P, you nailed it. The young Beau Jack who sold out MSG 7 times in one year
would have made hell for Roberto Duran. Beau Jack was the most action filled
fighter I ever saw. His name brings a smile on my face...:good

    This is a war!:good
Also Burt mentioned both Ace Hudkins and Rocky Graziano in another thread, that one might take the prize.

The sponsor on PPV would be Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
But the twice as fast Dempsey would be on top of Marciano,in a huff, and no one survives a prime Dempsey attack.
For what it's worth : When Rocky was champion VIRTUALLY all boxing people who saw prime Dempsey 30 or so years before, picked Dempsey to ko Marciano in their primes. Dempsey hit just as hard, with a lethal left hook, was just as tough, relished infighting, and as stated would always get there first in the exchanges. The writers who saw them both knew whereof they speak...:good

I've Ring magazines from Rocky's reign , comparing him very unfavourably to Dempsey.
