I'm glad that he apologized to Spinks and they seemed to bury the hatchet. I usually don't care too much about trash talk, it generally amuses me more than anything, but Mayorga's trash talk before hand to Spinks was simply tasteless.
The fight was close and not easy to score. I didn't have much a problem with the decision, but Chris Byrd (no surprise) painted a one-sided picture of the fight in favor of the slippery southpaw during his commentary. Barry Tompkins is generally pretty solid, but he was also too pro-Byrd in his commentary.
No he's not. Boxing fans with their short memories. He's not a jerk, but he's not the most gracious either. He makes excuses and claims he won fights he clearly lost.
I watched it on KingVision with Bob Sheridan and Virgil Hill commentating, you should here those guys, acting like their scorecards were GOD.Sheridan had it 114-113 Mayorga and Hill had it the other way.But I think Mayorga was robbed, the point deductions were kinda harsh and he clearly scored a KD in the 12th which was not counted
Naseem Hamed Chris Eubank Oscar De La Hoya Nigel Benn Hell, even Mike Tyson after the spanking he got by Lennox.
You mean how me blamed the first Forrest loss on the headbutt and said Forrest was in Georgia and learned how to properly headbutt people from Evander Holyfield? How he claimed he won the Wright rematch and said "I had Winky holding on for dear life"??
Hamed was a real surprise though. Of course after so graciously accepting defeat, he ended up losing his desire to box.
Hell no he was mad as hell after his loss to Tito called for an investigatiion in his loss to Mosley in the rematch. He's anything but classy in defeat.
