Short of death, and directly inflicted by a fighter? What are the most gruesome, debilitating, painful, horrible wounds that people have suffered in boxing matches? Let's hear em.

Edwin Rosario after the Chavez fight was a terrible mess. Taylor against Chavez deserves a mention, broken orbital socket, horrible swelling, and he had ingested a huge amount of blood from the cut in his mouth.

Also I'll mention Arturo Gatti in almost all his later fights.

    Good picks!
The Wolgast/ Nelson fight had both looking like they had been in a butchers shop explosion . Lou Nova ,after Galento had finished with him was a none too pretty sight.

Edgar Cardenas after his beating from Daniel Reyes (c.2003).

Robinson's cut against Turpin in their second fight was apparently gruesome (can't really make it out that well on the footage though - someone once described it as a small cut running from the side of his eye down to his kneecap: slight exageration possibly:think ).

    Resto-Collins is the obvious example.

Gatti at the hands of Mayweather.

Gomez at the hands of Cotto.

Diaz at the hands of Pac.

Willard at the hands of Dempsey.

Moore at the hands of Duran.

Ketchel getting his teeth bashed in at the hands of Johnson (admitedly it was one punch, but what a punch)

Rahman's massive swelling above the eye against Holyfield.

Joe Fraziers face was a terrible mess by the end of the third Ali fight. One eye was completely closed, and there was a cataract in the other, so effectively he was fighting blind.

LaMotta didn't look to pretty after Ray Robinson had stopped him; some real savage punches in the last round, to both body and head.

Schmelling's sustained beating of Louis in their first fight, as well as Louis' shorter but more brutal beatdown of Schmelling in their second fight.

Honourable mentions to Arthur Abraham and his jaw injury against Miranda, as well as Danny Williams with his dislocated shoulder against Mark Potter. Both suffered horrendous injuries but still fought through the pain to get the win.
