Following from the previous two threads....

Which has been the most gutless performance - i.e. not trying, quitting needlessly etc

    eg Lockett vs Pavlik
    Bugner vs Ali

    and so on..........

    Skelton v Sprott.

That was one fight where I thought they both should have had their purses withheld.

    Disgraceful from both of them.

Bugner wasn't gutless, he was just a pacifist.

However, Lockett's performance against Pavlik was unacceptable in my opinion. This was the biggest fight he had ever had, or was ever likely to have and he quit long before the going got rough.

    akinwande v lewis

theres probably been loads of these, from lesser known fighters, hence why they're lesser known

    Forgot Akinwande vs Lewis!!!

Harrison would have given Carl Lewis a good contest in his first fight with Williams.

This is perhaps a little unfair and it's certainly not the most gutless - but I though Witter could have put a bit more into it and at least tried to go out on his sword against Bradley.

Witter was just awful, rather than gutless as you say.

    So we have.......

    Lockett vs Pavlik
    Harrison vs Williams I
    Woods vs Tarver
    Akinwande vs Lewis
    Bugner vs Ali

I can't believe you ignored the one I mentioned. :patsch

Did you actually watch it? It was so embarrasing even Sprott's trainer was ashamed and was slapping the hell out of him in the corner.

There was one (lt heavy I think) title fight in the mid eighties where the Briton circled for twelve rounds whilst the champion stood in the centre of the ring...hardly a punch was thrown the entire fight, literally.

For the life of me I can't remember who it was, it was ****ing awful though.
