Mayweather Canelo Khan just seems too stupid to hate, I see him as funny more than anything. The guy he ran over in his car and showing no remorse whatsoever obviously is a hateful act.
For socio-political reasons Johnson, Schmeling and Ali were vilified at one time or other. And one could see why Tony Ayala and Davy Hilton were abhorred. But for personal dislike, I couldn't stand SR Leonard. I truly appreciated his skill-level, which was off the charts, but his boy-next-door BS really rankled me and the way officials would pander to him really got me going. Mayweather, Jr. too because I remembered back when he was exciting and then turned into a shoulder-rolling bore who was not a class person outside the ring either. But I can honestly say I have never had a more satisfying evening watching boxing than the night Marcos Maidana kicked the crap out of Adrien Broner.
The dislike of Audley Harrison seemed a bit irrational at one point. He was a disappointment, but he was a genuinely nice guy!
Hamed was a nauseating little turd. Barrera bearing him like a drum is gravy to me. In saying that I still like watching his other fights too. Tyson more for the irrational defensiveness of certain fans of his and the constant victim hood they place upon him than himself personally (although being a convicted ******, admitted wife beater, and general bully doesn’t make him exactly likeable either). I never liked Joe Calzaghe purely from an aesthetic viewpoint. I just found his style very unattractive to watch though it was clearly very effective. You can add old Hopkins to this as well. Adrian Broner because he’s a punk. He was just trash with an inflated sense of his abilities and place in boxing. He’s dull to watch (unless he’s getting his arse beat by Maidana or Pacquiao) and a total wannabe FMJ without, the skill, talent, work ethic etc...He doesn’t have the brains to at least be original.
Not Sugar Ray Leonard. Those allegations were false. They were never? Never! True. So dont be mentioning Ray Leonard's name in here. The man sold 7up and hugged Duran's son. He has no detractors. Nobody hates him. He tells no lies. He plays fair. There was nothing shady. Nothing to see here keep it moving. This is not The Sugar Ray Leonard Thread.
I dont know about those other but Ray Leonard never did anything to inspire such animosity. He was about fairplay and honor. I dont recall him ever even taunting an opponent. Except one time. Maybe that other time. People say he hit on the break repeatedly. Checking films dont see nothing.
I have no idea why anyone would hate Antonio Margarito. if any fighter ever got railroaded it was him NOTHING was ever proven against him
