Im glad im not the only one who thinks so. Good fighter but i think he gets a little over hyped on here, most of his big wins are over people who come up in weight (for some several weight classes from there original weight).

His LHW record is ok, but i get the feeling he stayed at middle weight to avoid all the hard fights / big names at smw/lhw untill he really had to move and even then it was ok because he had a excuse for losing because he was 'old'.

Donaire is 30 and fights guys who are going to retire and he is the fighter of the year and number 5 p4p? Pacquiao doesn't impress me much as an all time great but he is good just not where his fans put him.

He has a few super exciting victories:

Flawless victory over undefeated Glenn Johnson, non stop punching. Getting up off the canvas early in his title reign to bring it (was that the Mercado fight?)
Beat the hell out of Tarver and Pavlik in exciting one sided affairs as an underdog (definitely an underdog against Tarver), and his two fights with Pascal are great.

Deserves criticism for dirty tactics, but he is impressive.

Carl Froch. love watching him fight willing to fight anyone.

A combination of the fact Andre Dirrell a punching bag on this forum outboxed Froch (albeit in spoiling ugly fashion). He tends to look very sloppy in the ring, and SOME delusional people who think Froch only lost to Ward, because the fight wasnt in Nottingham

Damn you just love over-including boxers in a negative thread-topic, don't you?

if these noobs can't see how thoroughly brilliant Calaghe was, then I can't explain it to them. the fact that he changed gameplan at least 4 times against Kessler until he had the right one is what seperates great fighters from good ones, not just any old pugilist can do that

may I suggest you all re-watch that fight?

Pavlik for me (who MANY people picked to destroy Calzaghe :lol:)
