Ha! Lummox is an overrated fighter. He's on par with Vitali Klitschko. Good but not great.

I don't know about those 3, maybe Holyfield but in my lifetime Wladimir Klitschko seems very humble. I can't comment on those old fighters like Patterson and Louis as I've never seen interviews with them.

Discuss. This has been argued for so long.

Most humble heavyweights of their time. Respectful to opponents, no trashtalking. No extra bravado.

    Who is more humble?

I never thought of Lennox of being humble...not really. Joe Louis had to be humble because of the era he fought in. His handlers didn't want him to be hated like Jack Johnson, who was the antithesis of humble.

I don't know man...comparing himself to arguably the best heavyweight ever (Ali) doesn't strike me as being humble. He was neither a particularly gracious winner or loser.
But I can only speak from what I see in the ring, of course. I've heard that away from boxing, he's a great guy.

Louis for me truly was a genuine, humble guy. Even though he was pretty much coached to be that way as said above. He was really just a simple (not simple-minded, just simple) country boy at heart who happened to fight like a mother****er.
