    I thought Benn lost the first fight with Malinga..... but I'll give him a pass for the second.

    He was beyond shot after McClellan, mentally and physically.

    Benn was completely done after that fight anything after was just a shell of what he was.It was always going to be that way with Nigel though and nothing should take away what he achieved.

    i quite agree.the first malinga fight was well before mclellan though.and he got well and truly schooled,despite what the history books tell you.

    This interview covers the fight (part 2) and I was very impressed with Minster's stance on it. He fought well and gives a frank acount of what it was like to take on Hagler at his best. He's clearly a classy guy, one of the best interviews i've seen with a sportsman. From watching that fight you can tell that minter would kick the crap out of the middleweight division and most of the super middleweight division these days:

    Interesting. Good point he makes about the amount of mismatches on cards too. Its scary how that trend has developed since this interview.

    You're right, no vested interests just seems like a really honest guy. He's today's punter on a plate, wants to like boxing but can't get enthusiastic about most cards.

    OK, i'm not familiar with that quote but it's easy to write someone of for an indiscretion. We're so sensitive to race issues due to history and societal conditoning that you can blow a flippant comment like that out of proportion if you're a moralising idiot. Listen to his statement at 3:50 of part one and his closing statements in part two and sit there and tell me he isn't the man. This guy is gold despite his bronze medal and I wish we had boxer's with his integrity around today on the domestice scene. Long live B-HOP too!
