the '84 us team was loaded. i guess homecooking is just win the other countries don't win, not the best fighter. evander should have won gold as well. ridiculous.

112: Steve McCrory, Detroit, Mich. (1st)
    119: Robert Shannon, Edmonds, Wash.
125: Meldrick Taylor, Philadelphia, Pa. (1st)
132: Pernell Whitaker, Norfolk, Va. (1st)
139: Jerry Page, Columbus, Ohio (1st)
    147: Mark Breland, Brooklyn, N.Y. (1st)
156: Frank Tate, Detroit, Mich. (1st)
    165: Virgil Hill, Williston, N.D. (2nd)
178: Evander Holyfield, Atlanta, Ga. (3rd)
201: Henry Tillman, Los Angeles, Calif. (1st)
+201: Tyrell Biggs, Philadelphia, Pa. (1st)

the olympics, like lora, are chicken ****. how do you rob a guy in jones and then name him the best boxer of the the games? they changed the scoring system after this fight. i'd consider that to be pretty important.

Breyland was an incredible amateur, I too thought he was a no-miss...for some reason it did not translate into the pro's and I have seen fighters with great promise be mis-trained or mis-managed among them Canadian Willie Dewitt, Shawn O'Sullivan and Nick Wells who KO'd Holmes 2 times in the National finals

nah, the homecooking would be some of the decisions you chump.Barely a single close fight went against them either.

Lets face it, the scoring system could have been changed because of hundreds of fights before Jones got shafted.American fight fans continual whining about that fight pisses me off.

Stevenson/Biggs from 1984; or maybe beating Garcia in last hurrah, winning the 86 World Championships.

o'sullivan was HUGE here for that time but was thrown in against elite competition way too early. mismanaged is the perfect term for him

They were good, but no Cuban and limited Iron curtain competition, meant the 76 team is always going to be considered better. And because of the boycott and the plane crash, people are always going to have a lot of time for the 1980 team too.

The Roy Jones - Park Si Hun fight wasn't a robbery in the sense that the scoring needed to be changed. In fact, the fight was fixed. The judges were bought and paid for. And no matter what scoring method you use, if the judges are biased or fixed, they'll see to it that the guy they want to win does in fact win. The computer is a band aid for the real problem, and that is the HUMANS who judge and referee the sport and constantly like to bring it down. Boxing should do what the NFL does - hire and use over and over only the best, most competent, elite officials. Maybe if there was more competence and integrity in this sport on a more regular basis, more of the mainstream media and the general public could get behind it. But with all of the nonsense that continually takes place, that is not likely to happen.

    Lewis-bowe.

That one olympic fight led to bowe throwing his titles away and making a mockery of the heavyweight lineage with one of the biggest duck jobs in hw history.
