Dedication. It's not even about hard work or intensity, because there is a limit to how long one can keep it going like that. But to always be working, always be ready; that is the key. Even during downtime or breaks, don't let yourself go. Don“t balloon up in weight. Don't stop taking care of your body.
Professionalism is the most important trait, assuming you're already a world class fighter. Champions need to be able to maintain their discipline for years on end, and never overlook any opponent, no matter how far beneath them they may appear. They need to put in world class preparation and ensure they can perform to the best of their abilities on the night. They need to conduct themselves in a manner befitting their brand, which doesn't necessarily mean they have to be bland and a positive role model, but certainly that they do nothing to try to discredit themselves or their sport. Power, speed, heart etc are important, but they're not what separates the best from the rest.
Punch resistance. How can you call yourself a champion or look yourself or your loved ones in the eyes if you have a disgusting old lady glass jaw? How can a father be a strong role model to their sons if they routinely hit the canvas from the wind of glancing blows from non-punchers or have been sparked out on 3 or 4 different continents like Roy Jones for example?
i dont think one stands above the others different fighters make it on different attributes some on heart others more physical attributes speed or power
Probably the Heart. A good example of will prevailing over natural talent are the Dirrell brothers. Andre is def more talented but you better believe I would always pick Anthony as he has more dog in him.
Cant beat genetics. I come from both sides of fighters ...Father/Moms side..Father was a boxer 17 and 0. My uncles were trained at one time by great Jersey Joe . No one ever lost a fight as Ams, neither turner pro not my dad ..unfortuabley all took other paths ( stuff I cant post on here ) except one uncle trained Bowe at PAL >N.Y back in the 80's. Myself never trained for a fight but won them all with 1st rnd knockouts except one and that's bc I bled all over the place while running out of breath. Not as easy as most think if you aren't fit. . I never went pro bc of health issues but fought some guys outside the ring . Interesting stuff the fight game is.....
Ability to make adjustments on the fly, micro adjustments in fight. This one is abit more unusual but the ability to be coached, to take direction. A willingness to take the big fights. Never complaining to the ref no matter what your opponent does, at the end of the day it's a fight. But heart is number one, as it amplifies all the other traits that have been listed above Good thread this mate
