In my time ,1948 till now, I cant recall ANY heavyweight exuding the same aura of menace and foreboding as Sonny Liston.
Bruno's physique was pretty imposing, right up until the moment he got caught on the chin! 70's Foreman for me, it's those eyes, and his unshakeable self belief
Tyson, Foreman, Liston, *Ken Norton, and Holyfield Ken was the first heavyweight boxer to focus on weight training. I actually met him at his Golds Gym in Orange County. He offered to give me boxing lessons after eh noticed the black eye on my face. I had no Idea that he was a boxer until I saw his picture on the wall of the Gym.
Norton said that he never used weight training while he was boxing. I read an article in a boxing magazine that had an interview with Norton, and he said that all he did was calisthenic/plyometric-type exercises - pull-ups, dips, push-ups, etc. But I know he does weights now. Norton looks pretty big now even at his age.
