Most Impressive Boxing Achievement..?

Pacquiao or Louis for me.

When you factor in the catchweight at LMW and that he was a titlest, rather than the champion, in many of those weight divisions, probably Louis, just, imo. Still incredibly impressive weight jumping achievements from Manny.

 

No contest. Griffith winning three more titles after killing Paret.

 

Armstrong being undisputed and lineal champion of 3 of the 8 "classical" divisions.

 

It depends whether you mean just the achievement itself or what they did in the course of reaching them. P4P I rank these 4:

1. Louis - has some nice wins before becoming champion, but his standing rests on his 12-year reign to a fairly large degree
2. Pacquiao - his standing is almost entirely based on his achievements whilst winning titles in 8 weight divisions
3. Hopkins - his standing is partially contributed to by winning a strap age 47, but to a much smaller degree
4. Tyson - as above, except by winning HW titles at 20

So Louis and Pacquiao rank higher for me and what they did in the course of the listed achievements is more fundamental to their standing, imo.

As a creaking 40-year old, I agree Hopkins winning a strap at 47 is absurd. Moore was lineal at 47 though, whilst I don't think anyone has ever been lineal champion for as long as Louis, certainly not at HW or even any of the original 8 divisions, nor won world titles on 8 different weight divisions.

 

Hopkins as the oldest world champion is the most impressive. At his age, you shouldn't even be in competitive sports let alone the most brutal of sports, then becoming a world champion in that sport. That's nuts

 

Him doing pushups against Pascal was awesome. Too bad he couldnt retire at the right time.
