Someone who had a career at say 175lbs and made a new one at 168lbs etc and did well. it doesn’t usually happen, nature of weight cuts and all that but I’m just curious if it ever has been the case can’t just be a guy who debut at 155lbs and moved to 147lbs in a few fights of no note.

Carlos Ortiz dropping from LWW to LW is the first that springs to mind.

Sung-Kil Moon perhaps? He made his first run at 118, but after losing his title He moved down to 115 and went on 10 fights unbeaten title run.
Francisco Rodriguez Jr. more recently. He was competing between 108 and 115 for the first 16 fights of his career and then moved down to 105 for 2 fights, winning the title and unifying it right away.
