Tyson's victory over Spinks who got lucky with Holmes 'Tarver' style then gtfo of boxing once Tyson showed he didn't belong in the HW division.

Lewis's win over Vitali who didn't quit boxing and instead has gone on to establish a proper legacy at HW and arguably a top 20 ATG and top 10 H2H.

Finally the Lewis win over Holyfield. Holyfield who went through Tyson just two years before fighting Lewis. Crushed Moorer just 14 months before and scored a UD over a young resilient Ruiz a little under a year later.

    In order:

    03' Klitschko
    99' Holyfield
    88' Spinks

Is my bias view warped or unreasonable?

    Discuss.

H2H Lewis over Vitali is the best win. Vitali may never lose again and obviously would beat Byrd 10 out of 10 without injuries. Lewis is the only fighter who could have beaten Vitali wihtout any injuries ending the fight.

Holyfield is a big name, but he had already lost to lesser fighters than Lewis.

Spinks was a spectacular win for Tyson, adding to his image, but H2H far below beating Vitali or Holyfield.

I have Holy second due to being a little past prime, wouldn't argue with either being top but I'm curious, why do you have him a 'distant' second?

Tyson destroyed Spinks in 91 seconds and he was the linear champ. Lewis was losing the Klistchko fight and Holyfield was beaten soundly in everyones eyes but Euginia Williams.:p

    Spinks
    Holyfield
    Klistchko

This forum is the wong place to put this thread.

Not at the time it wasnt. A lot of so called experts were picking Spinks to easily decision Tyson.

True but at the time has little bearing on what unfolds in the future and what we do know is Spinks obviously had no place at heavy. If he did he wouldn't have just quit.

Spinks pulled a Tarver with Holmes and people started overrating what he could achieve in the division, I just can't see it any other way.

Spinks beat the best available heavyweight in Holmes. He then beat Cooney and Tangsted. I think he more than qualified himself as the bonafide heavyweight champion. Didnt Spinks retire before fighting Tyson???
Tarver sucked, and besides beating Jones never proved himself to be more than a Buster Douglas one hit wonder to me.

Spinks, especially when you consider how it was done.

All it showed was that he had his moments against a fading Holmes, that hardly elevates him to Vitali or Holyfields status.

As for how it was done I'd bet Lewis would have him out of there in 3, Spinks is hardly an ATG HW now is he?

It must have been a long fade since he fought competitively at the top of the division for another decade.;)
Spinks was better than your giving him credit for, Tyson just blew him away, just as he did Holmes and most of his opponents when he was hot ****.
