That "love" tap left hook that The Rock gave Joe while Walcott was sagging on the ropes semi-unconscious, didn't help Walcott much either.

I would say it was a bigger moment when Frazier dropped Ali, I say that because everyone at the time and himself included though Ali was invinciple, nobody ever thought Walcott was an unstoppable boxing God. The Suzie q that floored Walcott was incredible too though, if my memory is correct rocky was losing that fight until he landed it so it was unexpected.

    Rock down big on scorecards.
1952-09-23 : Rocky Marciano 184½ lbs beat Jersey Joe Walcott 196½ lbs by KO at 0:43 in round 13 of 15

I usually settle a question like this by saying Marciano-Walcott l was the best ko from a right, "whilst" Frazier's kd of Ali was the best knockdown from a left....that takes in a lot of territory,...sorta kinda.

He ate several giant right hands throughout the fight. When his legs went flat he walked into one and that was it.

Take nothing away from Marciano. A great punch, timed perfectly, but the seeds for that crop were planted over a dozen rounds of pressuring an old fighter and wading through some that old fighter's best shots.

When Frazier hit the slot with that hook ,it was a wonder to see .He did some severe damage with the Left to Bob Foster and quarry to .Not many heavy s at the top did so much with one certain punch .

Tricky choice. Iconic. I'm trying to think of more famous punches... Ali vs Foreman? Ali vs Liston? Louis vs Schmeling? But for pure quality, I can't split the two. I'm currently weighing a skinny 145.5lb, and I'm not very fit. I like McDonalds. But I'd even say Marciano and Frazier would put me down in a pub car park. Actually... A threat of a jab would put me down.

    One nearly killed his opponent.

The other scored a flash knock down.

    If you voted for Frazier...

You might want to consider the possibility you are biased.

One was against the greatest heavyweight who ever lived in the greatest heavyweight fight ever fought. The other against a doddering old placeholder who required 5 attempts and a depleted era to get a sniff of the belt.

    Check your bias.

Though, it should be noted, he likely should've won the belt the FIRST time he fought for it. So it's a little disingenuous to say it took him 5 times.

Who had also been dropped via left hook by non-entities Sonny Banks and Henry Cooper. And it should be noted, the Cooper left hook was far more impressive. And was Ali really the greatest heavyweight who ever lived post lay off? That sounds like romanticism to me.

    So much wrong here...

Describing Walcott as doddering, for one he was always smooth in the ring and that is a term reserved for people that are actually old and lost motor function. If you have to fall back on absurd hyperbole to make a point, you haven't made a point.

5 attempts to get a "sniff" at the title? You mean 5 attempts to win the title. If he got 5 attempts, he was doing more than sniffing, that means he was a worthy contender. And going into the details...5 shots at the same two men. The reason for the rematches being he was competitive enough to warrant them, in some cases on the receiving end of unpopular decisions.

I certainly have a bias but not to the point it makes me completely illogical.

I could understand if it was the only time Ali got dropped or hurt, but it wasn't.

There is no argument for a flash KD being better than a KO punch. Get real.
