:lol: just realised who SNV is!

I think Salvador Sanchez had a great boxing brain and fought with intelligence, particularly his last fight with Nelson

Schmeling-Louis I is a great shout. An older, less physically talented and some would say technically sound fighter taking out one of the greatest of all time because he exploited a single flaw in their technique? Epic.

My personal favorite might be Ezzard Charles KO6 Lloyd Marshall. Getting off the canvas to do what he did was awesome. I also really enjoy Benny Leonard-Tendler I, lots of mobility in that bout and two very skilled fighters going at it. SRL-Benitez was a great masterclass from a young fighter and proved Leonard's greatness as a complete fighter. Another good one is Tunney-Dempsey, Tunney did a great job of recovering, frustrating Dempsey and taking advantage of the holes in his game. The only reason it isn't my favorite is because I maintain that Dempsey was a slowed down, weaker version.

Foreman-Ali doesn't fit the criteria for the topic; what ali did in that fight was not an intelligent boxing display. It was a survival technique. You can't call taking horrible punishment to the body and head intelligent. Hit and not get hit.... Not get hit get hit get hit get hit then hit him when he's tired.

What else could that Ali have done? that was his best possible gameplan.

Maybe, maybe not. I agree that he didn't have many options on his table, but that still doesn't make it an intelligent boxing display. Absorbing punishment like that can never be.

Hands down and it is not even close concerning our era. That was a strategic dismantling of epic porportions. Nothing tops the brilliance of that fight. Everytime it looked like Tito was gonna land that bomb, hopkins hand flys up to block it at the last second.

Great call and it is the first one that comes to mind as far as inteligent performances.:good:deal

Pernell vs anyone? Dam that's a bold statement but I just got to agree. He was so consistent with his mastery that we just took it for granted. It's hard to incorporate his superhuman reflexes when thinking about inteligent performances because there are too many variables when concerning reflexes.

Did you like dirells game plan for the froch fight?
I dont think it was ali's gameplan by the way, first round he was trying to box george and he won the round in my opinion but in the end he took some punishment, so he adjusted from 2-on, he could not use his legs, could not go toe to toe, this was his only real option, that and maybe punch clinch. I respectfully disagree and think it was a very smart move, in the end it got the job done greatly. Ali was great at taking punishment but doing it for yearsss eventually payed the price, he should have retired after foreman then he would probably be healthier nowadays.

    PAC vs Marquez 3

PAC knows that Marquez is just looking for a big payday so he said,' Nobody will want to watch this Fight'.
