This is the fight that Stiverne vs. Wilder should've been.

A true pressure fighter with power who can bring it for 12 rounds and force a fight against a boxer puncher.

    Please make this fight.

Don't forget Wlad put Povetkin down 4 times.

He has a good chin, but so does Stiverne.

    Wilder could hurt him.

less intriguing than Wilder-Fury. I suspect Povetkin would be just too good overall for Wilder. However, I think Wilder has more than enough power to crack Fury's jaw and Fury has enough experience to give a fight,,,maybe.

    Wilder would destroy fury

Povetkin is a beast, but man Wilder has the perfect physique for boxing. Tall, long, fast, and lean, him vs Pov is a 50/50 fight

Povetkin would have the same problems that Stiverne had he would have to overcome an extreme reach advantage. Povetkin would get hit and it's not like Wilder can't bang. I'd pick Wilder in that fight easily. It would look like Wlad-Povetkin all over again.

Yeah, I agree, I see a similar scenario panning out as tonight, mainly because Povetkin tends to plod, to beat Wilder you'll need good footwork and boxing skills or not be at a huge physical disadvantage.

Povetkin went down 4 times sure, but a lot of that was from exhaustion of holding and leaning and wrestling Wlad. Wilder isn't that type of fighter, a Povetkin has the foot speed to cut off the ring the way Stiverne couldn't, and close the gap when Wilder goes into windmill mode.

Wouldn't be so sure about it. Povetkin has a lot more skills than Stiverne, he's fast and has good combinations.

Wilder being relatively light for his height would also be an important factor, and he doesn't clinch much, which would increase Povetkin's chances because he's very good at coming inside against the bigger guys (of course, he couldn't do it against Wladimir ultimately).

With that being said, I think that Wilder is a smart boxer and Povetkin is on the slide (reflexes and movement wise) due to age. I'm not sure, but I'd say that it's a 50-50 fight.

He got rocked hard in round 2 from a left hook to the temple. Subsequent knockdowns occurred while still hurt from that shot. Later though yes it was exhaustion.

This fight is great because Povetkin has very good head movement. He does everything better than Stiverne except maybe having an extra crispy counter left. Still, his power is good enough.

Wladimir softened Povetkin's chin. I wont be surprised if Widler stops him.
