Gary Norman used to produce those 'Ringside' shows too. He knew his onions I reckon. They replaced him with the slicker (but IMO less knowlegable and passionate) Paul Dempsey.

I still have a few VHS's of the old xmas special review of the year Sky did from 91 and 92. They are absolutely brilliant. Gary had a terrible cold for one of them.

BTW Bunce you'll upset Kerr with comments like that :nono

I remember Gary Norman well from the early 90's.. What's happened to him?? Would love to see him back on our screens. He used to be hilarious.

He was around during The Golden Age of boxing on tv.... ITV & Sky showing us all the top international fights, BBC Sportsnight still had an interest, Eurosport, ScreenSport...
(Now there's more televison channels available than ever and we can't even get coverage of Britain's only world champion fighting in his biggest fight to date).

As far as bad commentators/pundits go, I forgot all about Gary Newbon (thankfully). He was like Roger Melly.:patsch
I remember on the Benn-McClellan broadcast he couldn't even get Gerald McClellan's name right and kept referring to him as Mike McCallum.

Jim Neilly really gets my goat, too.
I'd've switched off Ron Lyle v George Foreman if he'd been commentating.
    The tiresome, dreary sounding twat.

i enjoy steve holdsworth and bob mee when they on eurosport.
Nice to see bob mee on sjy on saturday, good move that. They shoud use him more.
Love teddy atlas, Not everyones cup of tea i know.
I enjoy it also when they have current pros or recently retired fighters putting there views forward.Mooresy did well, recently.
I think it would be a good idea having the odd trainer on giving some imput to.
i always enjoy richie woodhall comments, the guy loves the sport and it shines through in his remarks

Sheridan does not get any North American jobs-he is considered terrible here.He is the International broadcaster for many events however. For some unknown reason,he is liked over seas.
I think he is absolutely terrible. He is a ****ing motor mouth.
